The Umbrella Man

A two-part animated series for MOE’s English Language Department about identifying themes in stories. I handled all creative aspects—illustration, animation, and post-production—based on a fun teacher-written script.
The story follows a mother and daughter’s mysterious encounter with a stranger on a rainy London evening. I especially enjoyed illustrating the French-inspired, monochromatic cityscape to match the story’s moody setting.

Project Wolbachia: Buzzing with Purpose

This fun and informative animation introduces viewers to Project Wolbachia — Singapore’s innovative mosquito control initiative. The star of the show? A friendly little Wolbachia bacterium mascot who helps explain how science is fighting dengue in a safe, natural way.
For this project, I created all the illustrations and handled the animation work. From sketching out the scenes to bringing the mascot to life, it was a joy to work on something that combined education, science, and a touch of character-driven storytelling.

A digital storybook created for MOE’s Malay Language Department. I worked closely with teachers to ensure accurate storytelling and diction—recording voiceovers together and fine-tuning each detail.
Despite not being a Malay speaker, I illustrated, animated, and polished the entire piece, making this one of my earliest contributions to digital storybook development.

This project focused on communicating complex financial information in a way that felt clear, approachable, and visually engaging. I developed the storyboard and visual direction, shaping how the information would be presented on screen before bringing the piece to life through animation.
Working with a combination of dimensional assets and clean 2D motion, I created a cohesive visual language that supported comprehension without sacrificing visual polish. The animation was carefully paced to guide viewers through the content, helping transform technical subject matter into an accessible viewing experience for industry audiences.

Children's Museum Singapore: Reopening Launch
Children's Museum
Created for the launch of the Children's Museum Singapore following its renovation, this animation introduced visitors to the refreshed museum experience through a playful and engaging visual journey.
Working from client-supplied content and key exhibits, we developed motion graphics that highlighted the museum's stories, collections, and renewed spaces. The project required close collaboration across multiple creative disciplines to bring together a cohesive and memorable launch piece.

HDB Tengah Shopping Mall Launch Event

Created event visuals to support the launch of the new Tengah shopping mall development. The video combined motion graphics with photography captured during the event, bringing together promotional messaging and real-world moments into a cohesive presentation.
The edit was designed to maintain energy and momentum while highlighting key event experiences, creating an engaging recap suitable for stakeholders and attendees.

A presentation-driven video combining talking-head interviews with motion graphics to communicate a hotel innovation concept in a clear and engaging way. Originally produced as a 10-minute presentation piece, the version featured in my portfolio is a condensed cut highlighting key moments from the project.
As one of my earlier directing projects, I led both the creative and production process, developing the visual approach and integrating animation throughout the presentation to reinforce key messages and maintain audience engagement. For the full-length version, I collaborated with an illustrator to expand the visual asset library and support the storytelling.

A series of educational videos created in collaboration with the Kak Fifi YouTube channel. The content combined live-action footage with custom animation, using illustrated elements and motion graphics to reinforce learning points and keep younger audiences engaged.
The animated assets were designed to complement Kak Fifi's on-screen presentation style, adding visual cues, educational callouts, and playful moments that supported comprehension without distracting from the lesson content.

Celebrating 10 Years
ECDA 10th Anniversary
This animation follows the journey of a child and her mother through the early years. The project was based on the agency's creative concept, which I helped bring to life through a collaborative production involving a team of illustrators and 2D animators.
I produced the project and brought together the creative team to develop the illustrations in Photoshop, coordinating the different stages of production to keep the visual style cohesive. I also animated selected sections and handled the final edit, bringing together the illustrations and animation into the finished piece.
This was a particularly collaborative project, with illustrators and animators contributing across the production. I enjoyed bringing together different creative talents and guiding the work from the agency's initial concept through to the final animation
